AERIAL YOGA TEACHER TRAINING
Level 1: Aerial Yoga Foundations
Learn the foundational aerial yoga postures and sequences that make up the core of our beginner aerial yoga classes. We will learn the basic training principles behind how to safely and effectively teach an aerial yoga class for beginners, begin building a movement and cueing vocabulary, and define what type of teacher you want to be. This level is about building confidence and strength using class-tested poses, flows, sequences, and plans.
After taking our Level 1 course and completing the mentorship program, you will be qualified to teach the “Beginner Aerial Yoga” classes at VF.
Level 2: The Art of Aerial Yoga
Completed Level 1, and ready for more? Now that you already have a solid grasp on the basics, it’s time to unleash your creativity!
We will work on creating and leading a dynamic, creative, and fun all levels aerial yoga class. We’ll dive more deeply into the science of stretching and strength building, and how to create a class that not only delivers fun, but results. In additional to unlocking dozens more poses and sequences, you’ll learn how plan and teach your own peak flows for students of all abilities.
There will be dedicated time for practice teaching, with plenty of feedback so you can refine your teaching style and voice.
Each level is taught over two separate weekends, for a total of four weekends, with a month off in between Level 1 and Level 2. We currently host these trainings once per year.
Mentoring Program
The mentoring program is designed to help solidify the skills learned in each teacher training course. It is included for those who are serious about wanting to teach at Valkyrie Fitness.
It consists of teaching about 3 full length community classes over the course of 1-2 months, based on the core routines that were taught in the Level 1 course. You’ll receive personalized feedback on each session. This will be scheduled based on your availability and you will be matched with a senior teacher based on the class formats you’re interested in teaching. Any trainees who wish to teach aerial at Valkyrie Fitness must first complete this mentoring program.
Receiving your certification: you will receive your certificate following a successful full-length “test out” class. You are welcome to schedule this anytime following the second weekend course.
These courses will all use the hammock at a hip height setting. We will not be learning low hammock postures in these courses.
